You may have seen on socials some early information about potential future planning in our neighbourhood. No need to panic just yet, there's nothing even remotely in place.
Here is what the planning officer said to Parish Council chair, Arnold Warneken. Good morning Councillor Warneken Thank you for getting in touch. I appreciate that there will be much discussion amongst local communities about the release of information about the call for sites. We are unable to attend individual parish council meetings on this issue, but we have provided Members, Parish Council’s and everyone registered on the consultation database with further explanation and a link to our dedicated ‘call for sites’ webpage: www.northyorks.gov.uk/planning-and-conservation/planning-policy/call-sites-north-yorkshire-local-plan The data that we have released on the call for sites is purely for information at this stage. The overall approach to accommodating growth within North Yorkshire has not yet been decided and site assessments have not been completed to underpin which of sites may be suitable to include in the new local plan. We would encourage you to share the dedicated webpage with your constituents (which includes FAQs) and to encourage anyone not signed up yet to ensure they are registered on our consultation database so that they receive notifications at key consultation stages as we prepare the council’s new local plan. The first major consultation on the new local plan is scheduled to take place in May; the Issues and Options consultation. This won’t be site specific but will provide the opportunity for engagement on the overall growth strategy and other key policy areas to cover in the plan. There will be another all Parish Council briefing on the local plan before the consultation is launched. I hope this information is helpful. Trevor . Comments are closed.
